is their anything i could do if this happens again? i was putting gas in my car with my boyfriend and we were just talking to eachother normaly, and this marine comes out shouting to us "STOP BEING GAY". then he just stared at us, like if he had a stairing problem. Me and my boyfriend did not ignowlege him at all and we drove off. We expect comments like that from immature kids but this guy was a marine. id expect better knowing that hes a marine. he looked like he was between the ages 30-40. And he was african american. what can i do if something occurs like this again but with others that discriminate against gays? from my understanding, i have rights too, i just dont know how to use or come about them. any advice? pleas be serious when answering. thank you very much to all who help :)

or:Well that guy sounds like no Marine I've ever met. I was in the Marine Corps my self. That guy sounds very immature and never should talk to civilians that way. If you see something like that again then ask him, so is that the way Marines talk to civilians nowadays? I thought y'all were supposed to protect and serve are country? What gives you the right to treat civilians of this country like that? Also try saying something like, We weren't doing anything to you to say such rude things to us. Or if that person is just referring to gay people in general. Then ask. How many gay people are in your battalion. I bet you don't know and I bet there are some in there and you serve with them. Do you treat them like that? Say I wonder how your command would react if they found out you were acting like that out here.. Would you like to find out? If he gets mad and belligerent then immediately hop in your car lock the doors and call the police and drive off. Also he may have been drunk to and if he starts acting like that while he has been drinking then call the police and they will either talk to him and fix the problem or take him to jail. That's just some of the things that I would come up with and I definitely have more things that I would say too. Oh and also you can just come up with the most clever comment to say to him to really embarrass him and try doing it in front of other people if possible. Also Sorry for the long explanation that just really ticked me off and I had a lot to say and I still have much much more to say about that LOL!
