I'm responsible. Okay? My mom is only mildly allergic to dogs and we have a hair-tastic one. My dad GREW UP with cats. I guess he's sick of them? My bro is okay with them. I have two little sisters. There is no problem there. We have little baby chicks in the kitchen, where my sis's play. They DO NOT pick them up out of their box and strangle them. Any way, I am their 'disciplinary teacher', apparently. So I would have no problem-o. I have $180, so I could pay for almost EVERY THING. I'm just SUPER EMBARRASSED to ask for things! HELP ME PLEASE!

or:1.) Write a letter. Explain your knowledge and how you have put a lot of effort into this. Don't be afraid to explain your feelings. What worked for me... \"Mom... I've been sitting here watching videos of kittens on YouTube for 4 hours straight. So, my birthday is coming up...\"2.) On a different note, they will give in more if your birthday or Christmas is coming up.3.) Know where you will get it and include it in your telling your parents. Humane Society is a great place. No \"free\" kitten is ever free, they require shots and all. The ones at the Humane Society already have their shots and have had their tests, and they are still cheap. 4.) Be willings to show your knowledge. Throw in words and phrases like, \"I was thinking the kitten should be at least 10 weeks old so it is properly socialized.\" etc.5.) Show responsibility. I always say that I will start doing ______ (fill in with chore) until I get a kitten, then continue it. It makes your parents think you really are responsible.6.) Explain how some teens ask for an iguana or puppy (work work work!) but you are asking for a kitten, easy, right?7.) Don't irritate them with asking. Maybe limit it to once a month. Be adult too. 8.) Tell them that you have been saving for a long time and are willing to buy supplies (scratching post, litter box, toys, food, possibly bed, possibly treats, carrier, etc.) and explain how you want this to work out, so it seems like you have a game plan.9.) My dad didn't like it at first. He hated it, actually. Me and my bro, and my mom of course did. He warmed up to it a lot, now here we are with our cat five years old and my dad coming up to the kitty holding him like a baby and singing to him and calling him cute and muttering in a \"baby-talk\" voice to him. :)10.) Find out which is better: boy or girl. Be prepared to get them fixed. Guys can be territorial. Research everything and find out tips, it already sounds like you are researching a lot!I wish you the best of luck! I am excited you want to make this choice. Have fun and be confident! :D

or:Also, I've been working on money and planning for 8 months now, so I really need advice.P.S. I want a kitten because I want something to take care of that I'll like (No offense to bunnies!). And because I'm friendless. I'm friendless because I do not like talking, or holding up a conversation.- Kathryn, otherwise known as jitterbug1012121

or:Well I'm stuck on the same page... also a girl, 12 this May and want a kitten. I have a dog, but we're gonna get him adopted (He is annoying and aggressive). Also, my mom and dad always remind me and my big sis that we were the ones who asked for a dog, and mom said no pets after the dog is gone. I just came here looking for advice, yet I found something on wikiHow: How to get what you want in 4 steps1. Wait until the person is in a good mood. Don't ask them for something after anything negative has happened to them. For example: don't ask if they look upset or if you got a bad grade on your report card. Ask and if they say no ask again and if they still say no make a SAD face and say please until they say yes and then after that help them so they won't think your using them.2. Get on the person's good side. If they need help with something, give it to them. If they want you to sweep the floor, do it (or at least make up a very good excuse for not doing it).3. Make it seem like you are doing them a favor. If you are asking your mom to buy take away for dinner, say that you know how hard she has been working lately and you think she shouldn't have to cook. If you want to go to a party, say that you will give them a break to relax for a night. There is always a way to make it seem like you are doing someone a favor. Be persuasive maybe a little manipulative when asking whatever it is you want, but not to the point where it is blatantly obvious you only seek their company because you want something; no one wants to be used like that.4. Thank them and act like they were doing a huge favor. Get on their good side for next time you want something.I hope I helped a fellow cat lover. Wish you lots of luck !

or:Sorry for the really late answer, but I hope people who want to look here for advice might benefit from my post. Firstly, I might want to mention my parents are animal-lovers. Throughout my childhood I have owned mice, hamsters, and currently have a budgie (all of whom lived for a very long time) and my parents never complained nor regretted buying pets. My mum lived with pets all her childhood, and loves cats, whilst my dad also likes animals but only had hamsters when he was younger. Our street-neighbours used to own to unique and amazing cats- Casso and Lucky. They were gorgeous Maine coons, long-haired cats, with wonderful and friendly personality. After our neighbours moved away, we felt sad we couldn't play with their cats anymore but their owner let us visit the cats sometimes. After an amount of time, I felt I could not be quite as full and energetic without my own kitten. I haven't properly asked for a kitten yet, but right now I am doing an encyclopedia about my chosen breed of cat (Maine coon) and will print out my encyclopedia and hopefully, along with my savings, persuade my parents to get a kitten. Some tips are:1. Don't be embarrassed. It is nothing wrong to want a pet. Pets are loyal and loving!2. Responsible owners don't get bored. If you feel you owned pets but got annoyed with them, don't get a cat, because unless you get a certain pedigree cat, they will most likely have completely different personalities.3. Buy Good Food. Cats are HUNTERS. They need meat therefore I prefer grain-free food for cats. Sure, grain-free cat food is ridiculously expensive but cats are family and it is important to give them the proper care. Whatever you do, don't buy WHISAKS, they are horrible and cheap, PURINA, loaded with cheap fillers, and other similar brands such as IAMS- horrible, cheap food. Instead, buy cat food such as Canagan (really expensive but excellent nutrition), Origen, Evo, Hills or Core Wellbeloved. 4. Do your research. You cannot just randomly buy a cat and put it on the sofa. You need a secure carrier, a good vet, a scratching post or cat tree, toys and catnip, dry AND wet food for variety, treats, food and water bowls (preferably high if you have a larger breed of cat so that don't hurt their necks), water fountain (not essential but a good idea for an indoor cat especially) as well as a collar, vaccinations and microchipping (dewormers and flea treatments go without question)Good luck!

or:I'm in a similar situation except I am 13 and have no animals and has never owned one before. I have literally begged my parents but they still say no :((
