How to tell a guy your ready to be his girlfriend?

Ive been seeing an ex for about just over a month..we went out when we was young, i was 14 he was 16. It ended after a few months. Now im 19 and he's 21. We met up about a year ago and have been really good mates. The a couple weeks ago he asked me to be his girlfriend..i said "we'll see how it goes"..he then said "thats fine, il wait till your ready". Now i am ready, i want to tell him but just dont know how to tell him without sounding cheesey.
Help would be lovely please :)
