Love - I ran into an old crush on the street. should I facebook message first?

... both headed somewhere in a hurry.but he said he would reach me via facebook because we didnt have each others number and he said we should catch

... both headed somewhere in a hurry.but he said he would reach me via facebook because we didnt have each others' number and he said we should catch up..but its been 2 days and no message.the thing is I know he was on facebook the other day because he commented on a friend's post.so should I wait for him to message me or should I make the first move? and if I do message him first should I leave a vague message (therefore leaving the ball in his court) or should I pretty much ask him to go hang out? Or should I just move on because maybe I am getting all excited for nothing?
