I have no insurance. I DO have emetophobia though. And a three year old son. I'm in the throws of a panic attack because someone mentioned (on facebook) that their kids are sick. I haven't seen these people in person in months, but now I'm petrified that we'll get the same stomach flu! I know it's silly. I'm also worried that going to my son's doctor's appointment for his shots on the 28th will bring us in contact with the stomach flu. I've had this phobia for as long as I can remember but it's getting so much more worse with the birth of my son. I'm afraid that very soon i won't want to go anywhere or do anything for fear of contracting some sort of stomach "bug". What can I do? who can I talk to? I don't have money or insurance.

or:The answer to this is very clear. You need to receive therapy and start the long road and work needed to combat this (phobias are wrapped up with very real feelings and fears in your life). You seem to be acknowledging this which is a good sign that you may be able to start that journey. I don't know what city you're in, but start calling around to find where you can get free or low-income resources. I needed to clear up an issue myself this summer and got excellent counseling at the YMCA women's center. It cost me $5 a session. It took a day on the phones but I found it (and other resources too). Keep calling around and don't give up. There may also be support groups out there. Call hospitals and look up online. Also an excellent idea, since you're a new mom and may be needed more at home now, you may likely find support groups online with forums and chat rooms. This is really good of you to be paying attention to this and start reaching out for help. Especially for you and your son's future. I commend you :) Good luck!

or:When i was about 10 or 11 i was afraid of vomiting. But i grew out of it.Well, it depends on who he has contact with and who he knows. If one of his friends has it, then he should be careful. Teach him the practice of personal hygine, and make sure he feels okay. For you, follow the same rules. You do not need therapy unless its severe. Simply, you can grow out of it somehow. Do not panic! You are an adult, so, i would suggest your immune system is strong! It may just be a child bug you had when you were little. I stopped vomiting from those at 11, but i know i'll get another. Just... not now.You can get tablets to stop you throwing up, i do not know if these work though.Best of luck xox
