Why Do I Think Differently?

I'm a fourteen year old girl that lives in a small town in West Virginia. I've lived in this small town almost all my life. Now, my small town is like a lot of stereotypes (but in my case, quite true): Christianity is the only way, being gay is wrong, and so on and so forth. My parents, teachers, friends, family, and anyone else I can think of thinks this way. I, however, think the exact opposite: I believe that God is God is God, no matter what language, book, version or edition He's in. Small communities like mine usually think the same, so why not me?

or:i think your have an open mind that is why you dont want to discriminate others you are just being fair to others you dont want to judge them just because of their difference and that is also being rational and reasonable and that is a good sign maybe your thinking like that because you can see that even though they have the same your mind tells you that there is something wrong with the way they used to have

or:You may think differently, but does that mean that you are right and everyone else in your community is wrong? That is a rhetorical question to get you to think. We are all have our own reasoning ability. We tend to put a high priority in this country about what \"we\" think. Other cultures do not have that same emphasis on how an individual thinks. The first century Jews did not care how one person thought. They were concerned about the group account; what the group thought, how the group was perceived, was the group honorable. We in this country think much differently and it has hurt us immeasurably. We put emphasis on how an individual thinks, who we are, what we do for work. It defines us here. Let's just face it, we are not that important. You are one person out of more than 6 billion people on this earth at this time. The only time that a person is doing something important is when we are doing something for the kingdom of God. Giving, sharing, loving, caring, tenderness, and sometimes a rebuke is necessary. Now back to your question. It is not what you think that makes the difference. The importance is on what God thinks. Leviticus 18:21-23 says that it is an abomination to sleep with the member of the same sex. Abomination is a strong term. This is a sin that is putrid in the nostrils of God. I did not say it. God said it. When God says something about a topic is is of the utmost importance. Are we to point out how wrong someone is for being homosexual? No, that is not our place. We are to befriend everyone and encourage them to come into the kingdom of God. A kingdom where love abounds (in proper context). A kingdom where God is placed in His proper position (He reigns). A kingdom where abundant life is promised. A kingdom where the King (Jesus) has paid the ultimate price for all sins. Yes, He did die even for the sin of sodomy. Anyone can leave their old lifestyle and come into this wonderful kingdom. We are all called to leave our former way of living and be conformed to God's way of thinking. That is the way that this life works. God is the creator. God makes the rules. God reigns. God decides.
