My youngest cat is 5 years old. If my partner and I go anywhere near the bathroom, she'll race in ahead of us and screech to a halt in the middle of the floor. She will even wake up from a deep sleep in the bedroom/in the garden or abandon her dinner to gallop over if she hears us enter the bathroom.

When we're on the loo, she purrs and rubs against our knees. The second we reach for the toilet roll, she takes that as her cue to jump up on the sink. She often likes to watch us washing our hands, or our face. Occasionally I'll "wash" her face too, by rubbing her forehead with my damp hand, which she seems to like. But sometimes, the moment you turn the tap on to wash your hands, she leaps down into the bathtub, where she sits and stares at you avidly.

I've tried flicking water at her as she used to like trying to "catch" it as a kitten, but she's usually not interested and just watches the water fall around her. Once we've left the bathroom she often stays in there for another half an hour, sitting stock still, like she's waiting for something. Eventually she'll wander off, but I feel like I'm missing something. I have two elderly cats and they are barely bothered by the bathroom, I think because they hate water. But the youngest can't get enough of it. What's going on?
