In particular, the exhibit will focus on how the poetic imagination, shaped by language, memory, but also daydreams, affects our perception and experience of being in a particular space and time. What is intimate and what is immense gets considered both formally and as metaphor. Whether outdoors encountering a landscape or indoors contemplating the inner landscape, Intimate Immensity and Other Daydreams will explore the possibilities of what is the poetic image and how it manifests itself for the artist, in the artwork, and for the viewer. The exhibit will present mix-media work including drawing, photography, sculpture, and video by a variety of artists. Weekly events will be held during the duration of the exhibit including readings and other presentations.Encountering the Poetic Image: A Conversation on Visual and Written InterpretationsFriday, December 7th, 2018 | 6 – 8 pmOn Friday, December 7th, 6:00 – 8:00 pm in conjunction with the Intimate Immensity and Other Daydreams group exhibition on view at AC Institute November 28th – January 5th, visual artist and writer, Kathline Carr and poet and conceptual artist, Kristin Prevallet, will discuss their respective multi disciplinary artistic practices and the interrelation of writing with visual and performance art.The evening will include readings and presentation of related work.
