yesterday morning a boy from school was killed in a car crash. He graduated last year and I’m a freshman this year so we weren’t ever extremely close, but we have said hi to each other every now and then since my sister and him were friends. I cried when they announced his death and people are saying that it’s wrong of me to cry because I didn’t know him very well. I disagree with their opinion but I wanted opinions from people who didn’t know him.

He graduated last year and I’m a freshman this year so we weren’t ever extremely close, but we have said hi to each other every now and then since my sister and him were friends. I cried when they announced his death and people are saying that it’s wrong of me to cry because I didn’t know him very well. or:Of course not! Death is a serious situation and crying is natural for some people. Maybe the people saying you were rude were just shaken from his death because they were close? If this is something that makes you sad than this could probably mean you’re a person in touch with your feelings who has a strong concern for other people, and again, nothing wrong with that.In addition even if you didn’t know the person well and you just interacted with him occasionally this is still someone who’s face you’ve seen that you’ve gotten used to, and to lose something like that can be hard for some people.I hope the situation clears up for you and people will stop calling you rude. If you disagree with them and they keep telling you just keep in mind that you believe you’re not rude and stick to your opinion and if you need to defend yourself, maybe tell them you don’t think it’s rude.I hope this was helpful!
