or:rope.

or:I am a toddler teacher and I can have up to 7 children (between the ages of 15 mos and 33 mos) at one time. You need to be very aware of what is going on. You need to know what everyone is doing. You start out by creating an area with as few blind spots as possible. And when you are alone you circulate the room a lot or position yourself somewhere where you have the best view point. And then you just engage with each child briefly and then move on to the next group. There are some kids that will be right next to you know matter what you are doing and some are doing their own thing. While you are engaged with one child you still need to be aware of what is going on around the room. The saying goes \"The squeaky wheel gets the grease\" so you need to make sure that you are not just attending to the \"squeaky wheel\" children. The quiet ones need attention too!

or:Based on Common Sense - of course a teacher must supervise multiple children at one time.
