I am considering changing to a plant-based diet. Some vegans are assuming that yeasts are animal, which would leave yeast-raised bread off of the acceptable food list. Hence, my question. Thanks for your answer. Any additional thoughts on that?

or:Yeast are smaller than animal and plant cells. They aren't really considered plants, but they are a type of fungi. Hope this helps :)

or:You are talking about a religion, and a religion based on guessing instead of knowledge. Why bother? The Christian bible says you can eat anything sold in a grocery store. Food only feeds the physical body. It has nothing to do with spiritual concerns.
