I've been taking vocal lessons for four years now, and I started learning classical music when I was 17, and worked up to harder things. I've learned the arias, Ridente La Calma, Giunse alfin il momento...Deh vieni Non Tardar, Poor Wand'ring One with the Eb6, Bel Piacere, and Batti Batti o bel Masetto. I'm 19 now, and a college freshman. My vocal range is F#3-F#6. I believe that I'm a koloraturasoubrette, but my new college voice instructor is giving me the 26 Italian arias for medium-high voice and L'ho Perduta me meschina. I purchased the medium-high edition of the standard Italian arias along with the same arias in an edition featuring a higher key for light sopranos. He said if that works better we'll use it. I'm worried though. Does it mean I might not actually be a coloratura soprano because I'm too young to know for sure. My voice is pretty flexible with notes above the staff. Will I lose that flexibility by my 30's even if I continue lessons? Is the really not fully mature until the late 20s to early 30s? According to ENTs the voice is fully mature by the late teens, but according to many classical vocalists the voice isn't mature until the late twenties to early thirties.

or:If you don't use it, you lose it. Meaning if you practice all the time it will be harder to not hit those notes. Don't worry things happen for a reason if you lose it you may just find something else you're good at.
