Bees, Wasps, rodent or electrical?

3 nights ago I heard a very intermit ant buzzing in my loft, my wife said it was the mobile phones vibrating downstairs. I heard it again the next night and it seemed more persistent. Having a dread of bees, wasps and rodents I had a look around the outside of my house and saw 2 or 3 bees/wasps going up into there loft space near the chimney. I cannot see a nest in the eves. I have checked the bedroom ceiling and found a warm spot (about 2" in diameter.) I knocked on this and heard a loud buzzing, one clear buzz and almost a background buzz that went on for a few minutes.
The warm spot has me confused, does this mean there is a nest under the insulation?

or:its highly possible that there is a nest in the insulation or under it i would have someone take a look you might have directions on line or call a exterminater to see how it can best be doubt with they have experience in this area so they would know about how to handle the situation sense its in a area as this hard to figure out
