Hello, I would LOVE to buy my grandmas house. However, one person in my family (married into the family so not blood) is resistant and making everyone else against the idea. The reason they do not support the decision is 1-what about the other grand kids? What do they get? 2-Grandma is still alive and only 70+ years old she doesnt need to sell her house and 3-Why would I support you buying the house when I get nothing from it?

How do I convince my other family members it is the right decision? I am willing to fix the house up and if I decide to sell the house I would take what I put in to it and split the rest with my cousins. I feel that is a reasonable solution.

Any ideas?

or:you might try and put that in writing so they can see it they might go for that as long as something is signed to that knowledge have a proffessional draw it up then they can't say that you are doing anything with besides what you say your doing

or:She's still alive which means it's her house, if you buy it from her then legally no one has any say over only you.You can't just take her house even if she's in a care home or sick
