Can a Resident Assistant (RA) at a College or University also have a part time job?

Most RAs dont and Im wondering if thats because they arent allowed too, or because its just too much to juggle both. I was really hoping Id be able to

or:It would be hard because of the different time commitments along with your coursework. I have a friend that did it, but it was a job that was very flexible (valeting). She got to choose when she worked so it worked out with her being an RA because she didn't have to schedule around her night duties on desk. So i guess what I am saying is that it is possible but, it will take a lot of hard work.
