Can depolarization and hyperpolarization occur at the same time?

This has to do with action potentials and the nervous system. or:This has to do with action potentials and the nervous system.or:I believe that cannot

This has to do with action potentials and the nervous system.

or:This has to do with action potentials and the nervous system.

or:I believe that cannot due to something to do with the calcium channels being shut off. I could be wrong tho, that's just my understanding of it
