Can I keep a lid with holes drilled into it on the storage container that I house my tortoise in?

or:How big is your tortoise, and how big is your container? I'm sure you have the right size for how big he is. First off, you shouldn't have a top on it as they like the open air, they get more ventilation. If you are doing this for traveling purposes, yes, he should be fine if you drill some more holes in the sides, high enough so the substrate you use won't fall out of the holes. This gives more ventilation if you have the lid and some more air. But as I said before if this isn't for traveling purposes, don't put a top on it. The light, can get in a lot easier and he won't feel so trapped.
