Can I stay in my school even though I moved out of the catchment area?

I've basically moved out of home because my mother and myself don't get along, I have 6 weeks left of school and the school is telling me that they can kick me out because I live 35 minutes away and I am not in the catchment area, my attendance is very low I will admit (below 50%) but I'm passing my classes. I haven't called the department of education just yet but I will do in the morning to get more information. I am 17 and living with people over the age of 18 so there are adults in the house. I don't want to go back to my parents house for many reasons, I'm happy where I am. I live in Western Australia
