Can man change last name when he gets married?

My fiancé and I are getting married next year, he has a hyphenated last name. We want to both just have one of his hyphenated names when we get married. My questions is - is there a simple way for us to simultaneously change out last name together through the marriage process? Or do we need to get his name changed first in that long process, and then I take that once we're married? I live in Florida by the way. I'm having trouble finding answers that aren't referring to HIM taking MY last name. Thanks!
