If they got a criminal record at a young age (9-12) for lift shopping/stealing once, will have a huge impact on their careers later on in life, if they wanted to become a police officer?

or:Yes, why not every person not a criminal from birth. Some time situation make him that. So if a person want to improve his/her mistake then let him/her be. If a criminal wants to be a police officer for recover the guilty then why not. Thank you.
