I recently found out that my estranged mother allowed by younger brother (10) to miss an entire year of school. She swears she is enrolling him in online school to bridge the gap between 3rd and 5th grade. What options are there? Would something online like k12.com help? Could he just enroll as a 4th grader in school? What can I do? DFACS and authorities like that are out of the question... she never stays anywhere long enough for them to help the situation.

or:I don't think k12.com is the best solution it's true that k12 is the same as the school from the educational side but it's bad for your brother from the social side espicially in such a sensitive age. He won't have any communication skills if you completed walking in this path
