Hi, i currently am wanting to write a novel and i have two scènes is my head so i would ask you wich is better ans if it plausible
1st:the character, heading to his home finds out a crime scene and not wanting to take another way, he tries to sneak into to pass trough but he gets caught and being intelligent, he helps the police to solve the case of the murder
2st: My character is working at the bar. There are 4 people when suddenly one of them dies . While police is investigating, he makes his own investigation and founds out the killer had worked with a poison which solubility would not kill the people drinking it so when he served to everyone he added his drink with the one of the victim so that the solvent wich raised will mix up with the saturated poison would make an higher concentration lethal for Human (even if not clear it is still a theory)

or:On the face of it I find the first better, its clear enough. The second seems fuzzy and as a result would be difficult to realistically develop.
