A few years ago i went to the doctors about pain in my knee, it was so painful some days usually after id taken part in sport i wouldn't be able to walk without crying. The pain was at the side of my knee cap and also felt like it was behind the knee cap. It would give way all the time, and would lock and felt like a popping sensation. I was sent for an x ray and physio and then later the orthopedic surgeon sent me for an MRI scan. Physio didn't work it just aggravated the pain even more, and then the physio got up my MRI scans (before id been told what it showed) and said there wasn't much he could do and i should go back to the surgeon. So i did and the surgeon said the MRI scan had shown inflammation in the meniscus and that it usually tears. He said he could go in and do key hole surgery but he didn't think id want that and that i could leave it and come back if it got worse. Now a few years on the pain isn't as bad but is still there when i do certain exercises, bend down, or if i drive long distances it tends to lock up. It mostly bothers me when i'm at work as i'm on my feet all day working in the hospital. When i search about an inflamed meniscus all i find is information on a torn meniscus, so has the surgeon just fobbed me off or is there a such thing as an inflamed meniscus?

or:yea there is wouldn't come up if there was such thing the surgeon probably is aware of this to but wants to hear from you just incase you want to have surgery i would think if it gets worse you might want to see about having the surgery you could start having problems just like that so you may want to give surgery a thought if it gets to the point wear it is inflamed or gets worse
