My concern is over the expansion and contraction of aluminum. Do you thick in this application the expansion and contraction will cause the welds to break? also, I plan to extend the gutter up onto the roof 1 foot, the tin is only up 3 inches

or:?? Aluminum gutters are sold at any building supply store. That is what everybody else uses.
