Is it possible to request my child's teacher criminal background check?

I've been hearing some things about my child's teacher that I'm really not ok with and I want to see if it is true.

or:Hey, They would have had to have a criminal background check before starting the job an if they did have a criminal record there's noway they would be working, these days you have to by law get one if your working with kids, eg dr's hospital, with old ppl, or if your a carer, an the list goes on, most job now you have to have one tho, an you can't just request one, if he's done something to your child then you will have to let the coppers know then they will do another one on him/her hope this helps :)
