I was driving up a hill covered in ice and snow and the only way I made it was flooring the gas peddle all the way to the floor. While my car did go up the hill slowly, I noticed the service traction signal was going on and I heard scraping noise on my tire. I made it up the hill and the signal disappeared.

Now I am worried, did I just damage my car? like the engine when I floored the gas peddle or my tires?

or:You really should take a class or read a book or get a friend to teach you how to drive a car. One of the first things they teach you in a physics class is that it takes a lot less force to keep a thing sliding than it took to start it sliding. That means you don't floor the pedal or hit the brakes hard on a slippery street because the tires can't stand that much force. Some transmissions even have a special gear for slippery conditions: If your tranny is marked \"P R N D1 D2 L\" the D2 is for slippery streets. It reduces the force on the wheels so they don't tend to slide. If you don't learn these things, there is a good chance you will wreck your car or slide it off the road when streets are slippery.

or:I don't think flooring it will do much damage unless you have had issues before with the engine the scraping could have been your tires or the ice or the engine letting loose or breathing abit and as for the traction signals if they didn't go on that's when you should be worried good luck but I think you will be fine
