Similarities: -they both involved with managing internal people of an organization, Differences: -personnel mgmt is traditional approach while HR is the modernized,-HR is more larger than personnel in terms of scope,- HR approach gives importance to values and mission while personnel is to norms, customs and established practices- HR is proactive while personnel is reactive in terms of Nature-personnel is an independent staff function while HR is integrated w/ the org's functions-HR is more on planning, monitoring and control aspects of resources while personnel is about mediating between the management and employees
