Do I need car insurance of my own if my bf let me drive his car?

I want advice so please be nice about it. My bf says I can drive his car and I can stop paying insurance for my car to help me save money. Is it okay?

or:i think he has to put you on his insurance if your driving his car because if you don;t have any insurance while driving his car they will give you a ticket cause you don't have insurance on his its the law it doesn't make a difference if its his car or yours you still have to have insurance either your own or he needs to add you on his insurance

or:You have to be on his insurance otherwise you will be driving the car illegally, without insurance. It is not difficult at all for him to add you but it will cost more. Also insurance is not transferable, it is given on an idividual basis.
