or:Yes, but it is not as dangerous as most parents make it out to be.I am seventeen years old, and my entire life I've believed that social media is bad and the people who use it are bad.But one day I decided to make a Tumblr account. I wasn't too into it, until discovering a few people my age with similar interests. We started chatting, and once we knew that we could trust each other, we have our numbers.I met one of my best friends online.Of course, you shouldn't trust everyone you meet on the Internet. But still, there are some pretty great people out there.

You can be a different person on the Internet but still be who you are right now. What I'm trying to say is, people aren't afraid to express them selves on the Internet and reach out to each other. In real life if someone asked a question to a group of people, I would most likely hold my silence. But here, I am not afraid. And that can really help those who need it most. It can help you make friends. I think the Internet is a blessing. Kids who are avoided by others are usually fine when they find new people online. I think people can really connect. It's a good thing.
or:personally i have made several friendships over social media. My current best friend doesnt go to my school so we tag each other in posts and laugh toghether over text. As long as you are careful and dont meet up with the people until you are 110% sure they are real and safe people then it isnt really that dangerous. I have also made friends in real life over social media, so if we like the same youtuber, it gives us a lot to bond over.
