or:yes. i'm not sure how it effects the newborn exactly but doing any drugs, drinking, and smoking any herb like marijuana or tabacco will effect any pregnancy. there's a big list of what women shouldn't do while pregnant or nursing.

Body fat can store some toxins, so if those fats are used up they might release toxins back into the blood stream (and not sure what else you would call drugs but a toxin!).
