Try starting off the conversation like this: \"Mom this is a little weird but there's some thing I don't understand about my body please explain.\" or \"Mom I think I'm around the age where I'm going through puberty so I need some advice.\" Giving a calm and smooth entrance will keep the umcomfortable silence away, she'll understand.
