... me a landlord reference as I have found a new place. She said she would only do it if I signed the 'Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement.' I have not signed it yet and am reluctent to do so as the surrender of the tenency stipulates that such notice may 'will not expire before the minimum term of 6 months has been completed. And the contract is from 4 months ago.

1) I guess my question is - is she allowed to do this, and is there any way around this?
2) Am i able to just provide a landlord reference from my previous house?

Advice would really be appreciated!
