About a month ago, my husband had a pain pump surgically installed and about four days after I noticed that the area in his back where the wound is was EXTREMELY swollen. The next day, clear liquid state oozing out of it. When we mentioned it to the nurse she just blew it off like it was normal or unimportant and he was discharged. Once home, it continued and so we contacted the doctor who had performed the surgery. He first tried doing a blood patch, which didn't work. He then did the entire surgery over again. It didn't work. He made another appointment with us over a week after we informed him that it was still doing the same thing. Meanwhile, we are taping towels to my husband's back and the towel is soaked in about two hours. His back has been hurting him more and more and now his feet are swollen.

We have the appointment tomorrow morning but quite frankly I am starting to lose confidence in this doctor and his"everything is under control" attitude which I really liked at first. It would be great to hear from someone else that this really isn't a big deal, because that is the way this doctor is treating it.

or:You're husband situation is quite serious. See another doctor before it's too late.

or:I feel sorry for you and your husband's situation. This isn't supposed to be the way you guys are treated. Although I do not have the same situation with your husband's, but mine was not that serious. In fact, I didn't undergo any surgery. I am thinking you should see another doctor. I have learned how our spine is working from dynamicdiscdesigns.com, this is also where my chiropractor got his realistic spine model. I believe your husband's condition should be brought to the next level and be taken seriously. It's already more than a herniated disc? I am not quite sure though. Hope everything goes well.
