Have a starting issues with my 2003 Nissan Xterra. Any suggestions?

Everything is in working order, cables are fine it has a new starter and battery and the wiring I perfectly fine. The starter isn't even engaging to attempt to crank the engine. And the vehicle runs just fine when it starts!

or:i don't know much about cars. but with all the computer stuff they put in them today it would be difficult to tell whats wrong just by listening. my uncle use to know alot.
