Hole in a shallow Ikea coffee table?
I accidentally plunged a small hole through the upper board of my dads shallow Ikea coffee table in his office, not knowing it was actually shallow. I
I accidentally plunged a small hole through the upper board of my dad's shallow Ikea coffee table in his office, not knowing it was actually shallow. It is 45cm in height, 118cm in length and 78cm in width, its surface is of white acrylic paint that has acrylic lacquer over it, the board itself says it is a particleboard and has a 100% recycled honeycomb paper filling. The whole is small, and myself a material illiterate, I contacted my friend who studies materials and design, and he told me to remove the broken and cracked part of the table, fill the hole with polyurethane foam, return the small part atop on the foam and stick it as much as I can, go through it with sandpaper and then apply acrylic white and shiny lacquer. Considering I am completely silly in my hands, what else can I do to make this as seamless as possible, or rather on which detail should I focus exactly? Thanks in advance.
