Hot weather vs Cold weather?

Most people I know like cold weather except for my aunt and myself. Personally I hate winter, not just because it's freezing, but you also have to deal with icy roads and sidewalks etc. I don't like putting on a bunch of clothes to stay warm I'd rather just wear a shirt and pants.

Unfortunately I live in northern Nevada and our winters can get very cold and depending on the year we get a lot of snow also. Some day I hope to move somewhere that's close enough no more than one hour drive, is warm most of the year and close enough to my family, I don't want to live in Vegas. Any areas close enough to the reno/tahoe area that fit my criteria would be awesome.
