or:It's ok to swallow small amounts of toothpaste, in fact it's impossible not to. You would literally have to eat like half a tube before you started to feel sick.
or:Toothpaste has nothing to do with cleaning your teeth. Toothpaste may have some medicinal effect, but it's brushing that gets the job done. So you can use less, or even none. I have not used toothpaste in 50 years.
