How can I get my dad to stop being so overprotective?

So, I'm doing a show for The Lion King on stage and I'm supposed to be wearing a black tank top and black shorts as "underclothes", on the day of the show. He won't even let me wear a tank top because he's afraid it will show my bra. I mean, who cares, it's just a bra, not my breasts and I'll be wearing a costume over it anyways. My dad isn't really religious and he usally isn't like this. We went to the store to go but a black tank top, but instead he got me a shirt with sleeves. I don't want to be sweating in that costume. So, how can I convince my dad that it's okay to wear those clothes?
