I'm a female 11 years old right now. I'm turning 12 in November.
I'm 5 feet tall. (almost 5'1) and I'm around 125 pounds.
I know its over weight.
I do soccer 3 times a week. Once on Monday for an hour and a half. Once on Thursday for an hour and a half. Once on Saturday for an hour and half. So every week I have soccer for 4 hours and 30 minutes. I also do Physical Education at school four days a week.
I'm in middle school as well so I have to walk all over the place to get to my classes and walk two miles to get home.

So this gives me reason to believe that the reason it's hard for me to lose weight is because of my eating habits.

I don't think I eat like crazy- I eat 3 meals a day with one snack in between lunch and dinner. So I think my problem is WHAT I eat and HOW MUCH OF IT I eat. Am I correct?
I know I'm only 11. I know I'm still growing but I've already started going through puberty and I'm getting heaver and heaver every day. But I don't want to grow up and be very heavy and overweight during my teenage years. I figure that if I start losing weight now and keep it up then I can be healthy for a long time.

Also my parents and most of my family are over weight as well and think that my weight is fine but I don't think it is. If I suggest a diet I'm afraid they'll get mad at me.

or:I think you are very right with the idea that the problem is what and how much you eat. Try not to snack too much, try and eat low sugar, clean, unprocessed food. Home cooked. Focus on proteins (fish, eggs, meat, chicken...) and veges (the ones that grow above the ground) and try to eat smaller servings of pasta, potato, rice, bread (the starches). That should help with your weight. You will still grow, so don't be too worried now. Good luck. :-)
