My dad almost played college, and he's very passionate about it. My mom loves working out and staying fit. The coaches are very demanding and we have to be super committed. I like basketball, but I don't love it. My parents are athletes, but I'm not into that sort of thing on a team with this level of commitment. I really love doing art, singing, dancing, and acting. My parents said that I HAVE to be playing at least one sport, but I perfer just working out compared to being on a team that needs the level of commitment that my team needs since I really dont think that I'm passionate about it. I would want to play on a less serious team, since I myself am not very serious about it. I have quit soccer in the past, and I'm worried that my parents will be disappointed in me and think I'm just trying to be lazy, but I'm not trying to be lazy! I know my dad REALLY loves basketball, and I really don't want to disappoint him! I just really don't think that I love basketbalI in the way that he does. My mom has become more involved in sports than she used to be, and she really wants me to play too. I know they want my to, I just don't want to! Whenever I bring up a little comment about quitting they get upset with me. I just don't feel happy with what I'm doing. I have felt this way for awhile, but I'm just way too scared of what my coaches, teammates, and parents will think of me. I'm scared to tell my parents and my coaches. How should I tell them I want to quit?

or:Don't tell them. Quit and then explain what you love to do. You are your own person. Tell them that you aren't passionate about it and that you would rather be doing things that peak your interests.
