or:The liquid that is a major constituent of all living matter, so essential to the life of man, animals, and vegetation on earth. None of us can live without it for more than a few days.Enough water covers the earth’s surface uniformly to a depth of more than two and a half feet (80 cm). This water is recycled in three stages to accommodate the needs of all living things on earth. No matter how man would like to credit himself with the creation of something, there is no question as to who created water and why. Genesis 2:5,6 says, "No bush of the field was yet on the earth and no vegetation of the field had begun sprouting, because Jehovah God had not made it rain on the earth and there was no man to cultivate the ground.  But a mist would go up from the earth, and it watered the entire surface of the ground".CLOUD, MIST, RAIN, is the reason the water cycle distributes fresh, clean water around the planet. Even though most of the water covering the earth is salty. Humans, with all their advanced technology, create countless tons of unrecyclable toxic waste annually. Yet, the earth recycles all its wastes perfectly, using ingenious chemical engineering. Water plays a large part in this area.Hope this answered some of your question. jw.org search "The living planet\

or:At an early point in the history of the preparation of the earth, “God had not made it rain upon the earth,” but “a mist would go up from the earth and it watered the entire surface of the ground.” The time referred to is evidently early on the third creative “day,” before vegetation appeared. (Ge 1:9-13; 2:5, 6; see MIST.) The first instance in the Biblical record when rain is specifically mentioned as falling is in the account of the Flood. Then “the floodgates of the heavens were opened,” and “the downpour upon the earth went on for forty days and forty nights.”—Ge 7:11, 12; 8:2.Rain is a vital part of the cycle by which water that rises into the atmosphere as vapor from land and water surfaces of the globe later condenses and falls to the ground, providing moisture necessary for plant and animal life. The Bible mentions rain in connection with this wisely arranged and dependable cycle.—Job 36:27, 28; Ec 1:7; Isa 55:10For more information on this subject and others, please go to the jw.org "Online Library." Also for free downloads, publications or read online.
