or:Just ask her for one. She does understand the concept of a diary right? If yes, she would know that diaries are private and shouldn't be read by others without permission. If no, ask if she could take you to the store to buy a nice notebook (but it'll actually be a diary, probably be best if it came with a lock) and keep it wherever you keep your private things. Lol.
