How do I convince my teacher to let me redo a section on a test?

I overlooked my essay on a Spanish test probably because it was the end of the day and I just wanted to go home. I also had like 3 other tests that same day. I found out today that I never did it, and I got a 40% on the test because of that one essay. I asked the teacher if I could do it for some credit. He said that I couldn't do it. The written essay was given to us before the test, and all we had to do was memorize the essay that he wrote. I see no good reason why he wouldn't let me take the test. This grade will pull down my GPA quite considerably, and my parents will kill me if they find out. I need to convince him to let me do the section so I can get a higher grade. Please help me!

I also have ADD if that helps. I was thinking of telling him that I forgot to take my medicine that day.

or:Be honest to the teacher and tell how much you want to change what you have got. I am sure if the teacher sees that you are persistent and that you are eager to work on your mistakes. I am sure that if you are cheerful enough, you will get what you desire for.
