I want to be exclusive with my girlfriend, we have been dating for 5 months and we both love each other. But when we talked about being monogamous she stated that she wanted to be polyamorous. We talked for a while and agreed to be in a flexible communicative relationship. She doesn't seem to understand the value of commitment and only sees it as ownership. how do I explain the value of commitment and get us in a committed exclusive relationship?

or:You could just explain to her that, that isn't the type of relationship you want. That you want to be with her and only her. If you have 100% kept yourself committed to this girl, tell her! I'm sure in some way she will appreciate it then you can both have your say. If her feelings are still the same, I recommend (and I'm sorry if you really REALLY like her) probably breaking up with her. If she wont be faithful and stand by you then just explain, and if you don't want this you also have to make that clear. Females aren't that tricky to understand... Well.. All the time... Hope this helps! :)
