How to be selected as an astronaut for NASA?

ever since i can remember i wanted to be either an "air force pilot" or an astronaut for NASA. but i dont know how to get a job at NASA to be an astro

ever since i can remember i wanted to be either an "air force pilot" or an astronaut for NASA. but i don't know how to get a job at NASA to be an astronaut. i want the NASA job more than i want to be a fighter pilot.

i was also wondering if it's possible to be an astronaut if you have a heart defect. like "tetralogy of fallot"?
