How to emulate touch on a broken touch screen ( where the touch don't respond )?

I have a HTC desire c and it's screen broke accidentally. Now the complete horizontal part in the middle don't respond. Is there any way by which i can emulate touch actions in that region using any physical key or from any other part of the screen????

or:The basic answer to this question is: if you have already taken it to a repair shop and they couldn't help you the best thing to do currently, unless it fixes itself, is to sell it for money and but a new one. Unless you haven't tried turning it off and on, please tell me you have, that's the first thing you should do when this happens.
