I am 13 years old and moved to the area I live in 2 years ago. Prior to moving here, I lived in Australia for a year, but since school in Australia starts in February contrary to here in America, where school generally starts around late August, when I moved to Southern Houston in the middle of the school year, instead of being placed with my appropriate age group (which was 6th grade at the time), I was placed a grade lower with 5th graders. After later graduating from 6th grade, I skipped back up to my appropriate age group for this school year, which is my 8th grade year. People in 8th grade at my school think that 7th graders are the most annoying and obnoxious people to ever have inhabited the planet, so when I showed up on the first day of school,(with the few people who knew who I was, thinking I was a 7th grader), I had even more trouble making friends than I already had before. The school year is about to end and I have only a very minuscule amount of friends, most of which are 7th graders. I am going to high school next year and I won't be able to sit with my few 7th grade friends at lunch and the very few 8th grade friends I have are moving away for one reason or another. I don't want the same thing that happened to me this year to happen to me next year, so any tips on how to make a good first impression for the new school year that's coming up?
