How to tell parents I broke my phone?

I dropped my LG G2 when home alone today and I have to tell my parents but I don't know how. Theres a couple of major cracks and it wont let me use my touch screen properly at all, i can do my pin to even get into my phon nor press home and back buttons. They're either going to yell at me or say it's my fault and if I want a new phone or it repaired I HAVE TO PAY! So any way I can avoid that?
