How to unlock my ipodTouch without knowing my password?

I made a un-simple password and I havent played on it for a few months, now i dont know the password. I tried to restore it or back it up or whatever

I made a un-simple password and I haven't played on it for a few months, now i dont know the password. I tried to restore it or back it up or whatever but it says that I cant because i have to type in the password before i can restore it. I watched videos on it and no-one else has that so thats the problem. I cant find help because it isn't happening to anyone else. I might be doing something wrong. My ipod is a 8GB if that helps at all. PLEASE HELP!! THANK YOU!!
