... lovely, there is this one girl who used to (or still has) feelings for him. because of this, she always blanks me if she sees me, or speaks to him while i am there as he encourages conversation, but despite my various attempts to strike up a friendship she remains cold towards me. I don't know what i should do as ignoring her in her own home seems like an uncomfortable option for me, i would like to be friends but i don't know what more i can do?

or:If you don't want to risk making things worse, just leave it as is. Have you talked to your partner as to what is going on? This is his friend so maybe you should defer to what he thinks is best.Otherwise, if you can't stand it. Just explain this directly to her as you have to us, and if she is still not interested just leave her to her own business. I would assume at some point your partner is moving out of this house, and for now this is something you have to deal with.
